"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine and a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers...also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of budweiser, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls...but the only thing that worried me was the ether. There was nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible than a man in the depths of an ether binge..."

the morning of magicians

"Life was something we never had to look far for. We could find it effortlessly; in books that had morals resembling fairytales, in twisted music and unrealistic movies. I could pick up an eighties novel off the dusty bookshelf at my childhood summer home and be instantly inspired. The older I got, the more convinced of it all I became: Kids are youth who are meant to run, freely and wildly, through the great expanse of life. We have the ability to look up and see shooting stars; to look down and see Heaven reflected in the fires of Hell. Hazy imagination, mind-altering substances and dancing through patches of the unknown was what I truly lived for."

Getting into hippies these days, admiring men the likes of Timothy Leary and Ken Keasey...both acid advocates and intellectually stimulating writers. This summer during roadtripping and travelling I hope to get into some of their stuff - it is so violently thought provoking. The above pictures are some of the most inspiring ones I have come across in a while...I would give anything to spend my summer at that crazy campsite with the teepee and acoustic guitars lying around carelessly. There is so much magic in these photographs; you can tell that someone really dreamt them up.
